Over time, your lawn builds up a layer of dead grass, stems, and organic matter known as thatch. While a small amount is normal, too much acts like a sponge — blocking water, air, and nutrients from reaching the roots where they’re needed most.
Vertimowing (also called dethatching or scarifying) uses specialised equipment with vertical blades to slice through and pull out this thatch layer. It’s one of the most effective lawn restoration treatments available — and the results speak for themselves.
After a vertimow, your lawn can absorb water and nutrients properly again. Fresh shoots fill in quickly, and within weeks you’ll notice a visibly thicker, greener, healthier lawn.
